Bless India 2008
I'll be going back to India this upcoming year - leaving January 3rd and returning mid-April. If you're interested in joining me for any portion of the trip, please send me an e-mail.
Bless India began to help promote awareness of Christ the King of Kings Ministries in India, and to support them through prayer, finances, and in-country missions work. Christ the King of Kings Ministries (CKKM) is run by Pastor Mekala Devadas and his wife Sarojini (known as Daddy and Mommy), their three sons and their wives. The ministry involves over 35 churches; and the pastors of these churches, which Daddy supports with his small pension; over 25 widows supported by the ministry; a children's home with almost 200 children; a school with approximately 350 students in addition to the children from the children's home; a second, smaller children's home in the mountains; and a Bible college. They are currently raising funds to build a Junior College as well.
This will be my sixth trip to India, my fourth with this ministry. While I am there I, along with some friends who will be there, will help lead a vacation Bible school, help teach English, lead chapel for the children, and meet many of the pastors that CKKM supports. I will get to share at women's Bible studies and the gentlemen on the trip will preach. We'll go on prayer walks through the villages and cities, visit Hindu temples (to gain a better understanding of the people we're ministering to and the spiritual warfare needed), and love on the children at the children's home.
I'm still working on making plans to visit some translators that I've worked with in Bangalore and having the opportunity to spend some time in orphanages down there and I'm also hoping to visit one of the girls I sponsor through Children International.
